FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LOCAL ARTIST TO OPEN FOR WORLD FAMOUS BATTLEFIELD BAND
Multi-talented master picker Darren Arseneault, of Farmington,
joined by band members John Kavanaugh and Jamie Juenger, will open
for the internationally famous Battlefield Band's Lunenburg Opera
House concert on March 25th.
Darren is a master of several distinctly different types of guitar,
plus the banjo, dobro, mandolin, dulcimer, harp, drums, piano and
fiddle. The music that he plays on these instruments varies from
jazz to bluegrass, lounge, country folk, blues, rock 'n roll,
classical and pure, original Arseneault. He's taken to singing and
songwriting now, and he keeps the same high standard in those areas
as well.
Jamie Juenger comes to us from Chester. This singer/songwriter will
be the guy playing the rhythm guitar, mandolin and percussion. His
lyrics are witty and picturesque, while the music can be jaunty and
catchy. You'll find yourself humming his tunes for many days after.
John Kavanaugh hails from Kentville, and brings his unusual upright
electric bass, an ancient instrument, the gamba, which looks like a
cross between a violin and a cello, and a ukelele. His falsetto
voice lends itself perfectly to the old classics that Darren loves
so well.
Their zany and energetic warmup will be a great complement to the
internationally known Battlefield Band, who will continue the trend
by taking the audience to even greater heights with an intoxicating,
frenzied mixture of wild and soulful traditional Scottish music, old
and new.
The show starts at 8 PM, Saturday, March 25th, at the Lunenburg
Opera House. Tickets are $15 general admission, and are now on sale
at ticket outlets in Lunenburg and Bridgewater. For more
