Hrm. The block I have was bought from Summitt Racing a couple of months
ago. It came with the stock 2-bolt main caps, but I'd heard that 2-bolt
mains won't very well protect the bottom end of a 302 if you're planning a
stroker.

What I'm trying to do is build a 302 smallblock to produce at least 450HP,
carbureted, and naturally aspirated. If I need to add a supercharger or
turbo later on to reach those HP levels without nitrous, then so be it. So
far the only definite thing I know I'll do, (just watch. Someone'll point
out why I shouldn't and I'll be back to square one), is to use the 347
"Compettition Hawk" stroker kit from D&D Motorsports. The engine will have
a max redline of 7,000, and yes, the crank in this kit is cast steel.
The engine is to be streeted, not raced on a track. 600HP is the D&D
stroker kit's max. I figure, even if I won't rev the hell out of it all
the time, a strong bottom end might be an idea to consider. Especially
when I'd like to keep using this particular engine in my '69 as long as I
can before the govt. outlaws gasoline vehicles sometime in the (hopefully),
far future.

	Thanks again ;)
