Take off wheel & drum, unbolt flange retainer through the access hole
in the axle flange. Pull axle.
If the axle is reluctant to come out, take a drum and stick it on
the hub backwards. Thread three lugnuts on just enough so they won't
fall off. Slam the drum into the nuts *CAREFULLY*. This poor man's
slide hammer will free the axle from the ring gear. Careful not to
destroy the seal in the housing. If replacing, then you'll only have to
be careful on reassembly.
