Message-ID: <54FDE311C1974CFCAB46D804BC9BBF20@D7NX7221> I have, for sale, a pretty rare Ford Manual: Ford's: "Automatic Transmission Diagnosis" manual. It covers the C4, C3-C6-FMX transmissions. Included with the manual is a diagnosis wheel for the C3-C4-C6-FMX transmissions. You dial in a condition or test result and it points to appropriate action. See more details on the manual below. I want to see if any Galaxie listserv member is interested before I auction it on eBay. I no longer need this manual because I converted my automatic to stick-shift. Price: $10 (or highest offer if more than one party is interested) + Priority Mail: $5 Please contact me, off the list, with questions if you are interested.... Per Donahue, the convertible, which I also have, uses a different visor bracket than the fastback and the convertible bracket is exclusive to the 64 . I bought my car with sunvisor brackets that were three holers, but they didn't have the right contour to fit the windshield frame correctly. Per Donahue, the convertible, which I also have, uses a different visor bracket than the fastback and the convertible bracket is exclusive to the 64 . I bought my car with sunvisor brackets that were three holers, but they didn't have the right contour to fit the windshield frame correctly. Donahue says that the 64 Convert brackets will sell for a grand if you find them. If someone knows something different, I'd like the info as well. Michael A. I know I could have it welded and remachined, but that would cost a lot more than a new hub. I have tried fitting the next larger stud shoulder size and that didn't work either. This June, make it a family affair at the annual 3-day vintage drag race festival and save some money, too. ?The Reunion offers family fun at always affordable pricing. Individual tickets are only $20 on Friday and Saturday and admission is free for kids 15 and under for an entire day of racing and family entertainment. And, on Sunday it?s only $15.? said event organizer Tony Thacker, Executive Director of the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum which produces and benefits from the event. ?Compare that to NASCAR racing where tickets can run about $90 a piece.? Since its inception in 2003, the Reunion has brought in more than $14 million to the local economy with attendees spending on everything from hotel rooms, gas and food to auto parts and much more. Jobs, income and economic activity are generated each year as motorsports fans, racers and hot rodders attend the event?-one of the largest on the Bowling Green calendar. ?There's no better place to enjoy old-school drag racing and hot rodding than at the annual Holley National Hot Rod Reunion,? says Marketing Director of Holley Performance Products Bill Tichenor. ?We?re so happy that this event is back in our home town and we can give it the attention it needs.? New this year will be a free on-site educational seminar for attendees. Also, stop at the Holley Race Trailer, by the start line, and take the opportunity to get your mechanical questions answered by the Holley pros. While there check out all the new products from the famous Holley brands including Earl?s, Hooker Headers, Weiand, FlowTech and NOS. ?We?re excited to be back in Bowling Green and happy to be pumping some much needed dollars into the Bowling Green community,? continued Thacker. ? We?re all for giving back. We use local labor and purchase and rent from local business where ever possible.? ?From drag racing for dads and shopping for moms to carnival rides for the kids, the Reunion is such a popular event because it offers a little bit of everything for everyone,? said Vicki Fitch, Executive Director of the Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. ?We?re looking forward to hosting the Reunion once again, and local businesses are getting ready to give a warm Bowling Green , Kentucky welcome!? Along with low-price tickets, Reunion organizers anticipate a larger turnout thanks to the low cost of fuel. Also, the falling price of racing fuel, especially nitromethane, used by ?fuel? cars will also help make the event affordable for the racer. So pile up the station wagon, fill up the tank, and see you at the Reunion ! We?re easy on the pocket. The 7th annual Holley National Hot Rod Reunion, June 19-21 at Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green , Ky. , is a 3-day festival of speed, hot rods and American automotive enthusiasm. Produced by the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum , presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California, the Reunion is part of the museum?s ?living history? philosophy, which works to bring to life the sights, sounds and people who made history in the early days of drag racing, land speed racing and the golden age of American car culture. Unique among motorsports events, the Reunion honors some of the top names in hot rodding from the past and features a fabulous array of cool drag cars, street rods, customs, classics and pickups. Three-day spectator credentials purchased in advance ($55 each) receive significant added value including a ?goodie? bag, souvenir reunion program, dash plaque and a commemorative laminated credential. And remember, every ticket is a pit pass. An extra bonus this year is the convenience of purchasing advance credentials online at _http://store.nhra.com_ (http://store.nhra.com/) through May 29, 2009. Prices are inclusive of all fees, so no additional charges will be added to the published price at online checkout. Admission is free for kids 15 and under accompanied by a credentialed adult. Credentials are also available by phone at 800/884-NHRA (6472). Single-day tickets will be sold at the gate each day of the event. Again, children 15 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult. The Reunion features a wide variety of activities and events, including: * Hot Heads vintage drag racing, featuring some the sport?s most famous and historic cars and drivers, racing in such classes at Nostalgia Top Fuel, Nostalgia Funny Car, AA/Gas Eliminator A/Fuel Eliminator, Nostalgia Eliminator and others. * Show ?n Shine, presented by SoffSeal, with more than 1,500 gleaming pre-1972 hot rods, custom cars, classics, pickups, muscle cars and old school rods. * Thursday night ribbon cutting ceremony and cruise sponsored by Heacock Classic Insurance. * Reunion Reception, held at the Holiday Inn University Plaza ?s Sloan Convention Center ballroom on Friday evening, June 19. Free to everyone, it?s a tribute to the Reunion ?s Grand Marshal and Honorees and a chance for fans to meet some of drag racing?s heroes. * Meet the Reunion ?s Grand Marshal, honorees and other legends at the Dynamic Legends VIP Tent, sponsored by Dynamat, all weekend long at the track. * Cacklefest on Saturday evening, where nitro-burning historic, front-engine top-fuel dragsters and other classic race cars are push started just like in the ?old days.? * Renegade Cacklefest display at the track. * Reunion Midway filled with manufacturer and commercial exhibits. * A huge Swap Meet of used parts and automotive treasures. * A separate amusement park with rides and games for all ages adjacent to the park (separate admission fees apply). Information, including a full activity schedule, entry forms and tickets, is available through the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum at _http://museum.nhra.com_ (http://museum.nhra.com/) . Proceeds from the Holley National Hot Rod Reunion benefit the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum . Celebrating its 11th anniversary and named for the founder of the National Hot Rod Association, the Parks Museum presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California houses the very roots of hot rodding. Scores of famous vehicles spanning American motorsports history are on display, including winning cars representing 50 years of drag racing, dry lakes and salt-flat racers, oval track challengers and exhibits describing their colorful backgrounds. The Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., PST. Current NHRA members are admitted free and Auto Club members enjoy a $2 discount. Admission for non-members is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors 60 and older, $5 for juniors six through 15, and free for children under the age of five. Comes with a handle. Directions are included, but basically, you get the wire between the body and the glass, which means puncturing a hole with a very thin screwdriver, ice pick or whatever. After threading the wire through, giving yourself enough length to have one person at each end with a handle, you basically saw through the glue/rubber, being careful of those trim clip attachments at the top, which will kink and break your wire. It took me three sets to get it right. Work the wire all the way around, and the windshield will come out nicely. At $300 for a new one, a good one is worth saving. Last week I had an unfortunate trip home when I got a sudden flat in my front-left tire and even more so unfortunate that flat ended up cracking my rim in two places so it's now a rather hefty paperweight. The tire shop installed my new tires (I really did need them badly) using the spare's rim (gotta love those full-sized spares) so now I'm without a spare.? Unfortunately?I'm not very?knowledgeable?about rims - so what are my options? Since it's just the spare it needn't match the others although?I'd like to keep using the same tire size to avoid mismatching in the future. Should I just try to find a generic rim that fits or look for a vintage OEM part? For what should I be looking and asking? Here's some information on my paperweight:??size P225/75 15 tire?"Ford 8MA" stamped in rim?16 3/8" wide, 6 1/2" deep, 2 3/8" center opening, 5 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern Thanks for reading all this,Adam? :x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x ?1968 Galaxie 500 2 Door?Hardtop?390, C6, 2BBL, Mean Green? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... This comes from a set of 5 from a 1968 2dr Galaxie 500 I parted out several years back. I had marked the back "68GAL" to remind me. I had forgotten about them buried with my other 1965-1967 rims in my horseshed. This rim matches the other 1965-67 rims I have exactly in all measurements and the rim profile. It is a 15" rim with 4-1/2" bolt circle. This rim has the cleanest bead area of the 5. Each of the five rims are stamped "FoMoCo AM8". [ backwards from yours with "8MA". My other 65-67 rims are all stamped 5xx, 6xx or 7xx. It's odd that these 5 are stamped backwards. ?? ]. The 8 is also stamped lightly on all 5. So it looks like a small "o" with partial leg coming off the bottom. Rim width measures 5" as you can see in one picture. Russ also confirms this standard 5" measurement. I measured on the inside of the bead. You might be able to match this with your damaged rim if you still have it. UPS shipping will be $13.75. Let me know if you're still interested. The 1968 Galaxie 2dr I parted out had drums all around. I have a 68 Galaxie 4dr out back currently, but it has drums also. So I don't have anyway to prove / disprove the compatibility of my rim to a disc brake car. It sounds like you are going to have to investigate the crossover possibilities a little deeper. I don't want to send you a rim that won't fit the front end of your car. It'll clear your rear drums for sure, but I'm not sure if you should settle for that. On a side note, I did sell some 1970 disc brake rims to a fellow galaxielist person several months ago and they had to have the "bulbous" profile to clear his calipers. I realize the Galaxies changed in 1969 ( compared to the 65-68 similarities ), so I'm not sure if this is relevant or not. I did check out all 4 of your links. The center area of your rim matched the 1970 version I sent the disc brake guy recently. I say 1970 cuz that's the year stamped on the 2 rims I had. Maybe that guy will read this and reply. I forget his name at this time. He was in the KC KS area I believe. Let me run through my spare rim stash tomorrow and I'll see if I any of these "disc brake" rims.
