Hello all:

I want to replace the fuel line in my '66 Galaxie Convertible with stock
352. 

Surfing for parts I found the following: 
OTC Fuel Line Disconnect Tool 
For 1966 Ford Galaxie 500

My question is will I need this tool to complete the job, and is my stock
(assumption) line going to be 5/16 in. lines?

That is the exact same bolt that is not stock on my 67, too. Someone put in
a replacement bolt that?s not quite big enough and they didn?t even use a
washer! I?m watching this thread for any info...

Hello

I have finally gotten around to getting my top fixed. During the
process the shop i am working with was struggling with some sag on the
passenger side rail.  It turns out that there was a bolt in place
( from a previous repair i suppose)  that was non-standard which was
causing the problem.

Sooo....I was wondering if anyone knows where i can get this specific
bolt for a convertible top.  Here are links to pictures showing the
bolt.

Aloha!
In Fordspeak, I think those bolts are made from
unobtanium. In local pidgin Hawaiian, we would say "No
more da kine, brah."
So, I fabricated them for my 66 top. Start with a
grade 8 bolt with a smooth shoulder long enough to
accept the plastic sleeve. The ones that have a
shoulder long enough that I can find at Ace Hardware
all have too much thread, so you have to grind that
off to fit. Use a smooth washer, not a lock washer or
star washer! And remember to adjust the eccentric
EVERY time you remove or repair a top bolt.

I believe that the missing plastic sleeve is also part of the  
problem.  do you have a suggestion about where to get one or something  
that would work?

At my Ace Hardware in Kapa'a, the plastic sleeves are
just a few bins over from the grade 8 bolts. I use a
cutoff tool to cut the plastic sleeves down to size.
The original only has a collar/flange on one side...or
at least mine do, so cutting off one end of the
plastic sleeve works fine.

I have never needed any special tools or parts to replace a fuel  line.
Original on a 66 was plastics, but I have always used 3/8 inch brake line,  
with a coupler about half way back.
  Just cut the flared end of with a tubing cutter, where you want to  put 
it in a piece of re-enforced rubber fuel line at the tank end and at the  
front, where it connects just behind thee let front torque box.

That is the exact same bolt that is not stock on  my 67, too. Someone put in
a replacement bolt that?s not quite big enough  and they didn?t even use a
washer! I?m watching this thread for any  info...

Hello

I have finally gotten around to getting  my top fixed. During the
process the shop i am working with was struggling  with some sag on the
passenger side rail.  It turns out that there was  a bolt in place
( from a previous repair i suppose)  that was  non-standard which was
causing the problem.

Sooo....I was wondering  if anyone knows where i can get this specific
bolt for a convertible  top.  Here are links to pictures showing the
bolt.

their stuff. They advertise that they  carry frame
hardware, so give them a call It's a place

Aloha!
In Fordspeak, I think those  bolts are made from
unobtanium. In local pidgin Hawaiian, we would say  "No
more da kine, brah."
So, I fabricated them for my 66 top. Start with  a
grade 8 bolt with a smooth shoulder long enough to
accept the plastic  sleeve. The ones that have a
shoulder long enough that I can find at Ace  Hardware
all have too much thread, so you have to grind that
off to fit.  Use a smooth washer, not a lock washer or
star washer! And remember to  adjust the eccentric
EVERY time you remove or repair a top bolt.

I believe that  the missing plastic sleeve is also part of the  
problem.  do you  have a suggestion about where to get one or something  
that would  work?

At my Ace Hardware in Kapa'a, the  plastic sleeves are
just a few bins over from the grade 8 bolts. I use  a
cutoff tool to cut the plastic sleeves down to size.
The original only  has a collar/flange on one side...or
at least mine do, so cutting off one  end of the
plastic sleeve works fine.

*believe* the upper that you're looking for.  It's not in *perfect*

  65-68 Full Size Fords (wagons) have a unique gas tank set-up, in that it is mounted behind the left rear wheel, and is subject to all the abuse of road gravel, etc. The protection, if any, is quickly worn away, and the bottom of the tank rusts out.
  The fact that no one makes a repro, makes it necessary to seal the leaky one you have.
  I used the POR 15 sealer kit on two of mine, almost 10 years ago, and they are still perfect.
  I stopped leaks with holes the size of a pencil. Just follow the directions, and it works. 
  Basically, after the initial cleaning/priming stage, you place duct tape over the larger holes, to hold the sealant inplace, until it hardens. Trust me, it does work.
  The kit sells for about $60, and I did two tanks with one kit.

Geocities is closing down forever on 26 October 2009.

If you have anything on Geocities you MUST save it NOW or permanently lose it. 

For anyone needing to save files:

Go to your Geocities file manager. Right click "View" for the file you want to save. Click "Save link as ..."

FYI you can no longer get to Geocities through the Yahoo interface. You must go to http://geocities.yahoo.com/gcp/home.php and navigate to your file manager from there.

Please pass this on to anyone that may not know Geocities is permanently being closed.
